It's so difficult to get Ashrel and Cherelle to take a picture together. Ashrel can never sit still. Else he would make cheeky face or close his eyes. Mommy loves to take pictures of the kids and meimei is her favourite 'model' now. She used to take thousands of pictures of Ashrel when he was a baby.

Cherelle is 3 Months Old

Cherelle is 3 months old. She now weighs 5.93kg and is 61cm tall. From mommy's record, Ashrel was 7.1kg and 69cm at 3 months old. Cherelle can lift up her head at about 2.5 months. Now she can flip from face up to tummy down position but not the other way yet. Many people have commented that Cherelle has big and round pupil (eyes). Mommy looks at the photos she took and it's quite true.

Is My Hair Nice?

Ashrel is very conscious of his appearance nowadays. From head to toe, he always make sure that he looks his best. My boy is 3 years old only..

Daddy brought him for a haircut on Saturday. Ashrel used to scream and struggle during haircut when he was younger. But ever since the first time he had his hair cut by hairstylist May at Fantastic Sam, he was not afraid anymore. She is good with kids and is very skillful. It costs $18 per cut, but as long as he sits still and gets a nice cut, is worth it.

The moment he saw 'ah ma' that afternoon, he asked, 'is my hair nice'? The next day he went to school and the first thing he asked his teacher was, 'is my hair nice'?

Shower Time

Cherelle enjoys 'pong pong' a lot. She would smile, kick her legs and even try to stand up. Good that mommy is an experienced mom, else may drop her into the water. Daddy would not dare to try bathing Cherelle looking at how strong and active she is in water. Sometimes, Cherelle would cry when mommy brings her up from the bathtub. Mommy would tell her, 'ok, tomorrow we would come for swimming again'.

Gathering at IMM

Fire, Fire, Fire...

Ashrel simply loves anything that is associated with 'fire'... fire-station, fire-engines, fire-men, news on TV and story books that show fire-fighting scenes. Thank God, he always tell mommy that we cannot play with fire as it is very dangerous. On 14 July (his birthday), daddy brought him to the Central Fire Station in the morning. He enjoyed himself very much.

His favourite colour is red too. He always insists to dress himself in red, even his brief.

Ashrel is 3!

Ashrel is 3. We had a simple celebration/dinner at Swensons. Ashrel had a kids fish and chips meal and a free 'Firehouse Ice-cream'. Daddy bought him a police lego set for his birthday. Cherelle slept in her stroller while we were having dinner. Once we finished, she woke up and we could take family pictures. Ashrel was very happy that day. As usual, Mommy was happy too as long as the kids are happy.

Nicholas is Ashrel's best friend/classmate. He never fails to tell mommy about Nicholas everyday he comes back from school. Ashrel 'copied' everything that Nicholas does. Nicholas has a pair of white shoes and Ashrel asks daddy to get him a pair too. They even pee together into the same toilet bowl! The teachers are trying to explain to Ashrel that he is a special and individual self. Ashrel knows it now, at least he does not need Nicholas by his side in school at all time.

Yummy! Ashrel is a good eater and he always finishes his food. He is generally not fussy about food except green vegetables.

We did not bring meimei along as mommy is afraid of passing any virus to her since she is still a small baby.

Ashrel turned 3 years old on 14 July 2007. This was the first time Ashrel celebrated his birthday in school with all his classmates and teachers. Both mommy and him were excited. Ashrel had chosen a Thomas The Train cake for his birthday. Mommy bought fishballs, nuggets, quail eggs, honey star and baby bites (as per Ashrel's request as all are his favourite food) for the party. Mommy also prepared a goodie bag each for all his schoolmates. Ashrel was very happy when everyone sang him the Happy Birthday song. He was smiling brightly throughout the whole session : )

29 June 2007 is our 5th wedding anniversary. Daddy brought mommy and Cherelle to Ritz Carlton for buffet lunch. We did not bring Ashrel (we brought him when he was a baby) as he was in school and none of us can enjoy a buffet meal with an active toddler running round the whole place all the time. Cherelle is quite a good baby. She does not fuss much as long as she filled her stomach with mommy's milk.

Meet the Parents Session

We attended the meet the parents session in Ashrel's school on 30 June 07. We had a good chat with Ashrel's teacher, Mrs De Souza. Daddy and mommy were impressed by the programmes and activities conducted by the school. We saw Ashrel's flower arrangement, 'The Hungry Caterpillar' book that he made/painted, a cookies english/chinese receipe book with Ashrel's (the baker) photo showing off his cookies creation, and many more. Now I understand why my dearest Ashrel can do so many things independently and speak so well. We went through his progress report and the crafts he did. Daddy and mommy said a big thank you to Mrs Lim, Mrs De Souza, Cai Laoshi, Chen Laoshi, Pan Laoshi and Ms Ching for all the care and love they have shown to Ashrel. What we missed out that day was we did not get to meet Ashrel's best friend, Nicholas and his parents.

Mommy's heart is filled with thanksgiving to God whenever she sees and reflects on how Ashrel has grown and progressed each day. When Ashrel is sad, mommy feels heartache. When Ashrel is happy, mommy is joyful. Daddy and no one can truly understand how mommy feels...

The teachers' thoughts about Ashrel:

Ashrel is a sweet little boy with a quiet disposition. He is learning to verbalize his thoughts and control his emotions. He has a healthy appetite and usually has seconds during meals. Ashrel is a determined child who is not easily persuaded when he has set his mind on something. He is slowly coping and beginning to grasp what's happening.

Daddy brought us to the airport last Sunday. Mommy said she was too tired and heavy to walk much now (finally she said no more shopping and daddy must be happy). We went to Swensen for lunch. After lunch, we took the skytrain to T1 to view aeroplanes. At 2pm, I fell asleep in my stroller. Daddy and mommy had their tea break reading newspaper and magazine at Coffeebean.

I went for very first school excursion to the goats' farm on 12 April 07. Both mommy and I were excited. Mommy had been talking to me about it and I was so happy that I could finally 'join' Nicholas in a school bus. Mrs Lim (my school principal) told mommy that I enjoyed the trip. I fed the goats with hay. Mommy would upload the pictures when the school's CD is ready in July.

I did not go up on the fire engine ladder to 8th storey high as I am scared. However, I finally got to ride on a 'real' fire engine. Yeah!

Mommy said 'I am so sweet' to her and she is so touched. What I said to my mommy is really from the bottom of my heart... My mommy loves me a lot a lot and so do I.

I threw my toys all over the living room. Mommy stood up and wanted to walk to the bedroom. I stood up also and told mommy, 'Mommy, don't walk there, walk behind Ashrel, wait mommy fall down, pom.. Ashrel saiyang mommy'.

This morning before going to school, I wanted to say goodbye to mommy. Daddy opened the bedroom door. I took a peep at mommy and said, 'Ashrel stand outside, mommy is sleeping, don't disturb mommy'.

Whenever I made my mommy angry, I would quickly said with a pitiful expression and tone of voice, 'Mommy, don't eyes big big look at Ashrel. Mommy, don't scold Ashrel'. Mommy sure 'se bu de' scold me. But this doesn't seem to work so well on daddy??

We went for hotel stay from 23 to 25 December to celebrate Christmas. I love it very much as we stayed in a suite and I had lots of running space, doors and cabinets to open, and a nice bathtub for me to soak in it (I couldn't go swimming as it was raining).

I started school (pre-nursery) on 1 December 06. I am attending St Joseph's Church Childcare Centre. Mommy stayed with me for 1.5 days of orientation, day 1 and day 2 of school. Now my daddy sends me to school every morning. Sometimes my eyes would be teary. I tell daddy, 'Papa, come and pick up Ashrel, after lunch and bathe, bye bye papa'. My principal and teachers said that I am a good boy. Mommy is so proud of me. I am adjusting well to school, am more sociable and independent.

Mommy did not update my blog for a long time as she was 'down' with morning sickness for 4 months. I will be having a 'meimei' soon. Here's an ultrasound picture of meimei at 20 weeks old. Daddy and mommy celebrated my 2 years old birthday on 8 July 06 (1 week in advance) at Food Haven Restaurant/Lounge. I was very happy and showed my brightest smile to everyone who came. My grandparents and the aunties and uncles all said that I look handsome that day. When they sang 'Happy Birthday to Ashrel' , I just could not stop smiling. The strawberry shortcake was from Baker Inn and everyone (including me) love the yummy cake.

29 June 2006 was daddy and mommy's 4th wedding anniversary. They went to Ritz Carlton for lunch buffet, without me. I stayed at home and played with grandma. This is the bouquet of flowers that daddy bought for mommy. I like to look at it but do not like touching it.

Daddy bought a Little Tikes kitchen set for me. Thank you Daddy and Mommy(for spending time looking around for a big and nice kitchen set for me). I am very happy. Chinese New Year

I was down with high fever few days before CNY. Then I had bad cough, sore throat and runny nose. Mommy said this was the worst virus I had caught so far, else I am a tough boy. We spent the 1st day of CNY at Granny's house. I was 'knocked out' by the medicine and had 2 naps there, each 2 hours. After my nap, I was energetic again, jumping on the sofa and taking everything out from the kitchen cabinets. Everyone was wondering, 'Am I really sick?'

Toilet Training

Mommy has started to toilet train me. That day, I was supposed to 'wee wee' before shower time but I was enjoying myself playing with the toilet roll. Mommy said, 'no next time'. She rolled back the toilet roll, good that the floor was clean and dry. From then on, I wonder why the toliet roll holder is always empty whenever I am there.

30 December was my mommy's birthday. Mommy had a great day and so did I. Daddy brought us to Ritz Carlton for buffet lunch. My parents enjoyed a peaceful and nice lunch while I was napping in my stroller. When I woke up, I was busy running round the restaurant as usual. After lunch, we went to Marina for shopping. Mommy bought 2 skirts and she was so happy. She must be deprived of shopping after I come into her life and make her so busy. At night, we cut mommy's favourite strawberry shortcake at home (Daddy never failed to order this cake for mommy's every birthday. Daddy, can you be a little bit more creative??).

Trip to East Coast Park

We went to East Coast Park last Saturday. I was so excited when I saw the sea and wanted to jump into it. Daddy stopped me as the wave was quite strong and I cried. I decided to chase after the many dogs there. I love animals and wanted to touch the dogs' eyes, ears, nose and mouth. All dogs, big and small were afraid of me and ran away whenever I went near them. I did not understand why, I was just being friendly. I saw a big golden retriever resting and panting with its tongue sticking out. I ran towards it and wanted to touch its big tongue, gum and teeth. Daddy quickly grabbed me away. The dog was scared of me and hid behind its owner. Daddy said I cannot do that as the dog might eat up my entire hand. Oh no!

I love bear. I like to hug and kiss my bear. Daddy and mommy made a bear for me at CoolBear Workshop on Saturday. I named my bear 'DaDa'. Mommy left her job to take care of me full time. She could not bear to send me to a childcare centre. This picture was taken after I woke up from a good night sleep. My daily exercise now is walking round the whole house. Recently, I fell in love with this pair of red Converse track shoes from Auntie Jo. I will ask mommy to put in on for me every few hours interval. Mommy said it is very troublesome to put it on (to loosen, tighten and tie shoe laces) and it is quite warm to wear this at home. Sometime I could not find this pair of shoes anywhere in the house. Maybe mommy has hidden it.

Mommy said I am a good boy when it comes to eating. We thank God that I have a good appetite and eat well except when I have teething discomfort. Here's my menu for the day. Mommy is trying to cut away some of the milk feeds but I love milk. I can eat so much as I am a very active boy!

Breakfast
8am: 180ml milk
8.30am: half to 1 slice of bread & 1 quarter slice of cheese
9.30am: 1 bowl of Healthy Times/Earth Best organic multigrain cereal with steam apple or banana or dried apricots & raisins

6.15pm: 1 bowl of organic brown rice porridge with fish, chicken/beef, carrot, sweet potato & green vegetable
7.15pm: 90ml milk

Bedtime
8.30pm: 180ml milk

Zoo Trip

We went to the zoo last Saturday. It was daddy's company family day. I was more interested in exploring the surrounding than looking at the animals. I love water fountain and I kept wanting to run towards it. Mommy said I made the most and loudest noise there but I was just being excited.

My First Few Steps

I started to enjoy walking, walking and walking on 28 August, a Sunday. For the past weeks, I had been practising my first few steps again and again at home. Mommy bought my first pair of walking shoes on Sunday. I still think it is easier to walk without shoes!

Walk Walk Walk

I am learning to walk. I like my daddy and mommy to hold my hand and walk with me from room to room. Many times, I let go of the support and walk few steps. I will quickly walk towards mommy so that she can hug me. This afternoon, I stood up from the squatting position without any support. I stood straight and tall for quite a while. Mommy was so happy. I was so happy too and I clapped my hands.
Whenever mommy disappears from my sight, I will crawl to my walker and push it around to look for mommy.

Disney Baby Contest

My daddy and mommy brought me to United Square Shopping Mall for the Disney Baby Contest photo shoot on Saturday. Everyone said I look like a big school boy in that picture. After that, we went for tea at Baker Inn. Mommy took a photograph of me roaring like a lion. Now you can see all my teeth. I have 4 middle upper, 3 middle lower, 1 upper and 1 lower left molar. I am drooling so much that my saliva trail is all over the place. I have to wear a bib even at home else my shirt will be all wet.

I played the piano on Friday. I enjoyed it so much and mommy was so happy. She said finally the piano is no longer a white elephant. She taught me how to play a simple tune, 'Mi Re Do Re Mi Mi Mi...' .

Today is National Day. My buddy, Randall is celebrating his 1st birthday together with the nation. Happy Birthday to Randall and to Singapore.
